Legal Secretary - Tax/Private Client

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world?s leading global law firms with over 4,000 lawyers and staff in 30 offices is seeking a Legal Secretary for the Tax/Private Client Practice Group. This position will reside in the Boston, MA Office and will be responsible for secretarial/administrative support to attorneys.
? Works efficiently and effectively under pressure to meet multiple and critical deadlines
? Prioritizes tasks, pays attention to detail and follows through to ensure deadlines are met
? Handles confidential information discreetly
? Assists with time entry and with monthly client proformas and billing process
? Maintains cooperative working relationships within office and practice groups; fosters positive working environment
? Ascertains and conforms to multiple client procedural preferences
? Responds to client, staff, legal professionals and vendor inquiries
? Opens, screens and routes mail, and manages faxes and electronic mail
? Demonstrates a high level of internal and external client service; screens communication and responds promptly in a clear, concise and accurate manner
? Greets and assists visiting clients; projects a professional demeanor in all client interactions
? Drafts routine correspondence and memoranda; updates recurring reports as assigned
? Provides coverage when necessary for any and all attorneys as requested; demonstrates willingness to work in a team environment
? Understands and uses firm resources effectively
? Maintains attorney address book and InterAction entries
? Monitors attorney time records to ensure compliance with established deadlines
? Maintains filing system including paper, electronic and chronological files
Closing files and sending to Records Department
? Processing new business intake forms, including conflict checks, engagement letters
? Process attorney expenses and vendor invoices in ChromeRiver
? Scheduling appointments; arranging meetings and conferences/teleconferences; maintaining multiple attorney calendars
? Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma and a minimum of 5 years of legal secretarial experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Post high school education and secretarial experience is preferred.
? Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
? Advanced proficiency in formatting, proofreading, and editing correspondence and other legal documents is a must.
? Solid organization skills, attention to detail, initiative, resourcefulness, the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast paced environment and project a professional demeanor in all client interactions, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion are also required.
? Excellent written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team is a must.
? Experience with client billing, Filesite or similar document management system, and calendar management is also required.
? Experience scheduling domestic and international travel and meeting arrangements, and flexibility to work overtime when needed is required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
